Joyi Bakes ・ Dessert

It was long ago since I went out to eat cutesy foods like here at Joyi Bakes. This place is already known for locals especially millennials and Gen Z to hang out and turn it into a pretty masterpiece posted on their profile status. I tried it and the experience is actually quite nice. I went there on Saturday afternoon at 11 PM and it was not busy at all for the weekend. It could be because it's just 1 hour after open hours.

I and my sisters got to enjoy many fresh baked goods from them and the most famous bingsu in town. We ordered Basque Burnt Cheesecake, Blueberry Tiramisu, Nutella Toast, and a bowl of Strawberry Bingsu to share.

Actually, I forgot to take all photos of them and there's no blueberry tiramisu thingy at all on the photo and the cheesecake is just peeking on the left top :(

Strawberry Bingsoo
Strawberry Bingsoo

First of all, the most famous item is this bingsu. They sell flavors like Oreo, matcha, mango, and others, but we picked the classic strawberry. It was served with a small cup of milk on the side to pour into the bowl. All I can say is, that the bingsu tastes simply like strawberry milk with the icy texture because it's basically shredded ice topped with strawberry slices, strawberry jam, and probably simple syrup. The amount of strawberry slices is pretty decent and I love the small additional texture from the almond topping. Overall, it's pretty basic because it may have a cutesy presentation, but when talking about the delicacy, IT IS BASIC Y'ALL!!!

Nutella Honey Toast

This toast on the other hand is a must-try at Joyi. The bread is freshly made by them and the size is pretty thick for a toast. My pick is this Nutella one, but there are matcha, strawberry honey, and other variants to pick. Each of them is topped with a scoop of ice cream, mine was chocolate ice cream. Overall, two thumbs up for the presentation and taste check.

Happy me :D
The cheesecake and tiramisu didn't leave quite an impression on me, despite the small portion of cheesecake I think the taste is a bit boring and IDR 40K was too pricey for a small slice of cheesecake. The tiramisu actually has a bigger portion but blueberry and coffee don't suit me that well. So, I might just want to order the original tiramisu rather than fruit fruit-flavored one.

That's it for now, overall it's so-so. Oh, I forgot to mention the service is very nice and it didn't take that much time for the food to arrive at our seats, so that's a great point. And the atmosphere is pretty relaxing with multiple genres of music playing around in the background.
